Dr Susan Peng is a gentle dentist with caring attitude. Under her care, nervous patients have learned to leave their anxiety behind and trust Dr. Peng’s gentle hands. Her relaxed manner and compassionate demeanor put even the most hesitant patient at ease.  One of her patients even declared “I like your needles”.

Dr. Peng is an experienced dentist with an extensive education.  She graduated from two dental schools (University of Toronto, School of Dentistry, and Beijing Medical University-BeiDa University, School of Dentistry). After graduation from the Beijing University, she did a one year residency in oral medicine and restorative dentistry, one year in oral surgery and one year in prosthodontics-dentures. She then received two years of specialized orthodontics training and worked in an orthodontic department for 12 years in China. She also obtained orthodontic training at the University of Sydney in Australia from 1994-1996.  Once in Canada, Dr. Peng completed the Dental Hygiene Program at the University of Manitoba. Following this training Dr Peng enrolled in the School of Dentistry at the University of Toronto. She graduated with honors in 2003. Dr. Peng and her family relocated to BC in 2003.  She practiced general family dentistry as associate at ACU dental in Burnaby for six years.

In 2009, she bought Dr. Leyland’s practice and renamed it “Alderbridge Dental”.  Since then, she has worked diligently to upgrade the dental equipment, for example, the new digital X-Ray machine, which reduces radiation almost 90%.  Dr. Peng is fascinated by the endless innovations that help improve the quality of the care and strives to be on the cutting edge.

Dr. Peng is a life-long learner and enjoys being active in all aspect of Continuing Professional Education including seminars and study clubs in:

• Orthodontics,
•  Invisalign,
• Cosmetic dentistry,
•  Implants and mini implant-support dentures,
•  Laser,
• Endodontic and
•  Wisdom teeth extractions.

Dr. Peng’s philosophy of patient centered care ensures her commitment to respecting every patient's needs, budget, and schedules. Using her intraoral camera, digital x-ray, models, and computer demonstration before and after treatment, Dr Peng is able to give patients the information they need to make informed decisions about matters affecting their oral health. Her open and friendly manner invites questions and concerns, answers them with educated and easily understandable responses, making every patient feel unique, understood and in good, gentle hands. 

Dr. Peng’s husband and son support and nurture her dedication to being the best dentist she can.  In her free time she enjoys playing sports such as basketball, ping pong.  For relaxation she swims and does yoga. She likes travelling and enjoys exploring the world with her family. Now she is looking forward to golfing.

Dr. Felix Zhang – The Art of Sedation Dentistry

I completed my 1st dental degree in 1988 and received a master degree in oral surgery in 1991 in China. I worked for 5 years as an oral surgeon before moving to Canada in 1996. I obtained a PhD degree in oral health sciences at the University of British Columbia in 2000 and a 2nd dental degree (DDS) in 2005 at University of Alberta. I worked in Calgary for 5 years and moved to Vancouver in 2010. I focus my practice in extractions with IV sedation.

Yan has been working as a dental receptionist for over 7 years. She is our expert for scheduling and dental insurance. She may answer any of the questions you may have in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. She does her best to accommodate your request and make appointment times as convenient for you as possible. She works hard to help you understand your insurance plan and how it helps to meet your dental needs.

Dr. Yi Yang is a board certified periodontist, fellow of Royal College of Dentist of Canada and diplomate of American Board of Periodontology. She received her periodontics training from Loma Linda University in USA. Dr. Yang also gained extensive research experience in dentistry after completed her PhD study at the University of British Columbia, where now she is a clinic assistant professor and teaches part time in the faculty of dentistry. Dr. Yang lectures and teaches periodontal continue education course in China where she was trained and worked as an oral surgeon. Her goal of practicing periodontics is to provide the highest standard of care to her patients and help patients to maintain their oral health. At her spare time, Dr. Yang enjoys photographing, travelling and practicing yoga.

Wendy is our experienced and gentle dental hygienist. She joined our team in 2009, bringing along with her a wealth of experience and maturity packaged in a warm caring personality.

Wendy is a graduate of the Vancouver Community College dental hygiene program. She is currently registered with the College of Dental Hygienists of BC and is a member the Canadian Dental Hygienists Association.  Having been working in the dental field for the last seven years, she is passionate about her profession. Her goal is to offer our patients with high quality and gentle care in a supportive, comfortable and stress-free environment. Wendy enjoys working with people and looks forward to coming to work each day. Your smile is definitely her greatest reward!

Wendy loves being outdoors. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, camping, and travelling with her family.

Rona is an experienced dental assistant before joined our team; she possesses professional skills and pleasant personalities.

In a group, Rona is good at creating relax and harmonious atmosphere; this kind of character let her make many friends. Rona enjoys living in quiet environment, she likes to hike solely because the forest is a good place to relax.  Rona is a reliable and good listener as well.
